Shout out to Zach H. for recommending this album; not sure he will be thrilled to see my thoughts on this one…
745 sticky
Swirling screechy synths are the only backing melody here. The majority of the melody is carried by the vocals. It sounds like they applied every possible effect to their voices and I do not like this. This sounds like a Japanese anime fever dream.

money machine
I think this is their most popular song; it definitely has a bit more of a traditional and approachable structure compared to ‘745 sticky’. I may be showing my age here but I’m not sure what a “money machine” is nor why it is clean. (Is that the normal state of a “money machine”?)

800 db cloud
I think I’m starting to get the vibe of “100 gecs” here; absurdly low production value, negligible melody, and minimalistic beats (with tons of extra noise on top) coalesce into an anti-establishment pseudo-punk statement. Is that what this is supposed to be? The screaming at the end of this song was absolute trash.

I Need Help Immediately
The title of this song perfectly captures my current mindset. This song sounds like a 10-year-old working their way through the presets on a keyboard at Best Buy.

stupid horse
The off-beat chords and high tempo gave this one a bit of a ska vibe at the beginning but then the frenetic drums took this back to the feverish vibe established in ‘745 sticky’. I don’t hate the guitar here which is saying a lot.

I really wish 100 gecs would stop. The thumping bass and percussion heavy part around a minute in was actually pretty interesting but then it cuts out for more vocals. The ending of this one had a bit of an interesting lead up to it I guess…

ringtone
This may be my favorite song on the album so far. It’s actually decently catchy and the strings in the background plus the chip-tune synth make this very palatable compared to the other songs on this album.

gecgecgec
This is more of the type of random preset noodling from ‘I Need Help Immediately’ with hardcore electronic breakdowns and a repeated ‘gec gec gec’ reminiscent of Twitch subscriber text-to-speech. Second half wasn’t bad but I realize each song keeps lowering the bar for the next one.

hand crushed by a mallet
Heavy reverb on everything including the arpeggiated synths in the beginning really got my hopes up for this one. I kept waiting for an eardrum bursting noise blast on this one but it never came. What a relief.

Honestly stopped paying attention on this one. Really looking forward to the end of the album

Summary
I hated this album. I feel sympathy for the mixing and recording engineers who worked on this. I do not understand how this is critically acclaimed.
